120.WHO FIRST TAMED THE HORSE?

There are few animals that have played as important a role in history as the horse. This is because the horse has been so useful in warfare. Can you imagine what wandering tribes, invading armies, knights, and soldiers all over the world would have done without the horse during the last few thousand years?

We can trace the ancestors of the horse back millions of years. But who first tamed the horse, the animal that we know? It is impossible to say. We know that prehistoric man used the horse as one of his chief sources of food. This was probably long before he thought of using the horse for riding.

3.WHO MADE THE FIRST DOLL?

Today we have dolls that walk, talk, cry, sleep, eat, drink-they are made to be as much like living beings as possible. But suppose a little girl is very poor and her parents can’t afford to buy her a doll? She might take a piece of wood and wrap it in a cloth and say it’s her doll. And it would be a doll! For a doll is simply whatever a child wants to consider a doll.

2.WHO INVENTED THE REFRIGERATOR?

Refrigeration is the process of making and keeping things cold. The way to make things cold is to remove heat from them. So refrigeration is any process that removes heat to make cold.

In ancient times, of course, snow and ice were the natural way to refrigerate things. Wines were cooled in this way. But even in ancient times another way to produce cold was known.
